Employee Engagement

Recent studies have shown that employee engagement levels are still relatively low.

More alarming are the engagement levels for China and Hong Kong.

Studies have shown that companies with highly-engaged employees are 70% more productive and 40% more profitable.

Armed with this global research knowledge, ALTEC is engaging all of our clients and other industries in China to participate in an Employee Engagement Survey to help China's industries and organizations build better organizational cultures and become more productive and profitable.

Silk Road series of Team Collaboration Events

The Silk Road Adventure (SRA) is an authorized localization of "The Search for the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine", by Dr. Scott Simmerman of the Performance Management Company in the US.

Other ALTEC offerings include "EVEREST!, which was made under license with Dr. Simmerman, and is based on the Lost Dutchman and SRA. The South China Sea Quest, is a further derivative work based on Seven Seas Quest, by Mike Robinson and Scott Simmermen (localized under license by Michael Nelson).

ALTEC developed a new simulation called "Ascent!!" in 2008-9, which is another Mt. Everest simulation, but the thrust is on decision making, played in a framework called the Diamond Leadership Model (Peter Kaustenbaum).

Tribal Council Change Leadership Event

Tribal Council is a terrific way for leaders and managers to learn how to inspire and create lasting change.

The onset is that a prehistoric clan is nearing a decision on relocation, due to many factors beyond their control. The tribe has four clans, and each clan places different emphasis on important matters. The tribe must decide where to move, and then only have 9-10 months to construct their new village before winter sets in.

This simulation is embedded with the ADKAR Change Management Method (Prosci) into the simulation. The atmosphere is highly interactive, extremely dynamic, and learning about how to manage change is accomplished by going through the Tribal Council process.

Tribal Council is a creation of John Dorris and is a terrific way for leaders and managers to inductively learn how to inspire and create lasting change in their organization.

ALTEC - Engaging the Dragon Within

Employee Engagement Survey

As part of the ALTEC 2010 strategic initiative, ALTEC is launching an Employee Engagement Survey to any existing clients that wish to participate.

The survey will launch 1 March 2010, and the first group of participants will have a 30 day window to complete the survey. After 31 March, ALTEC will analyze the results and provide a simple report to all participating organizations.

You can preview the survey from the Main Menu -> Features -> ALTEC Surveys -> Free Public Surveys -> Public EES.

The survey has 29 survey questions and some demographic questions to get more info about the individual participants.

The survey takes 5-10 minutes to complete online, and participants can change their responses by taking the survey again. The database will save the newest responses only.

Names are not asked for online nor revealed in our survey results.

The survey was created by Willbe Zeng, ALTEC Dragon, Principal Consultant, and Organizational Development Expert.

New Website Layout

Some of you might notice that we changed.

ALL of us changed during the last two years!

We've heard it said that "Nothing stinks like a dead dragon". This particular phrase has a special meaning to US.

Our old website was completely static, and perhaps technically "dead".

Right after Chinese New Year, ALTEC launched a Joomla CMS with many bells and whistles built in, some of which include:

  • Extreme interaction and engagement
  • An ALTEC blog to document our best stories
  • 18 or more different style variations so you can choose the "look and feel" of your ALTEC experience.
  • Ability to deliver courses (future) and surveys ONLINE
  • Cool downloads of our events, as they happened (edited to prevent boredom, with great music added to increase the appeal, as well as other useful tools for HRD in your organization
  • Ability to purchase ONLINE some of ALTEC or other licensed materials (through licensed partner agreements), such as course ware and simulations for your own internal use
  • Ability to directly Engage ALTEC through an online chat tool (includes voice chat too, saving phone expenses)
  • Schedule an appointment for a phone conference or Skype conference
  • Subscribe to the ALTEC Newsletter, which keeps you informed on what ALTEC is doing

There are some limitations:

  • You cannot register yourself as a user on the site, you must confirm who you are and why you want to be registered before ALTEC will issue you a username and password to access certain areas of the site. Application form is located HERE.
  • Comments and ratings may be disabled for public guests, so to prevent spammers, registered members have access

Welcome to our new home, and we hope that you will call it home often!
