Djembe Drum Event

Drums are excellent teambuilding events. For thousands of years, tribes and civilizations have used drums and percussion as a way to unite and excite their teams.

ALTEC is happy to offer a drum event to medium sized organizations. With 50 Djembe drums and dozens of other percussion instruments, ALTEC can easily provide this event for up to 100 participants. For larger groups, don't get discouraged, please contact us and we'll discuss it.

Djembe drums can be integrated with your teambuilding theme, and can be done indoors or outdoors. Both have their benefits:

Indoors: Weather is not a factor. Drums don't like water or rain. Indoors, the sound is contained within the venue, although in a large hotel, this might not be what the hotel wants.

Outdoors: Outdoor drum events are FUN! Especially at early evening / dusk. As the TEAM works up their performance, fireworks are lit off to highlight their final performance, adding to the excitement of the event.

The most popular method of event is for the main facilitator to introduce the Djembe and other percussion instruments to the TEAM, then work them through the basics of playing a percussion instrument.

After that, each group must compose their own unique "rythm" or "heartbeat", including a song or cheer. Performances are required, and must last for at least 2 minutes.

The entire event usually takes about 2 hours, from start to finish, though events can last anywhere from 1 to 4 hours, depending on the desired outcome.
